at Chartier

Photobucket
It is not all work here in Paris. I do have time to go out with friends as well. Yesterday we were at Chartier at rue du faubourg Montmatre - have you ever been? It is like this big hall and there are a lot of tables and a lot of people. When we got there there was a 10m line but it only took five minutes before we had a table. The food is good and cheap, 20€ for three courses and that was including wine. I can definitely recommend this place.

At Loewe

Today was spend mostly waiting in line. It is quit exhausting, I am so tired when I get home at night. So now I am going to bed. Tomorrow awaits another day of, guess what? More castings.

Paris, the casting nightmare

Photobucket
This is why I have been so quiet. My days are booked up with castings, castings, castings. It's nice to be back in Paris and yesterday it almost felt like spring! But it is also exhausting to run around all day even on weekends trying to book the same shows as thousand of other girls. To night I am going to a party with friends though and I can't wait to just be surrounded by nice people that I know.

Leaving for Munich and then Paris

Photobucket
Packing is always such a pain! I'm really really good at organizing and can fit a ton in a suit case but I have to watch my kilos, and I don't owe a scale, so it always comes as a surprise when I am standing in the airport (sometimes I even pack too little and that is even worse!)
Besides the stuff in the photo, entertainment for the flight, charger, navigo pass, lounge wear, daily wear, underwear, washclothes, skincare and shampoo, I also packed three pairs of shoes (one pair of heels, Nike sneakers and Acne Jolie boots) and more cosmetics in great little travel bottles, they are saving my ass when I get to the counter and find out how much I actually packed! My flight is at 3pm so I have to go pack the rest and get ready.

See you and have a great day!

Track I love

(There was a video but it got removed)

I can't stop listening to this track, I love it! Spleen United Misery (feat. Gitte Nielsen)

Blue crush part two

Photobucket
Polyvore collage, check it out here!
This sweater from A.P.C. is just amazing in my opinion! I think I could get a lot of wear out of it, and since I'm going to Paris again on Wednesday (after a quick stop over in Munich for a job), one of the first things I am going to do is definitely go check it out in the store on rue vieille du temple. It is perfectly classic without being boring in my opinion.

I am pretty obsessed with this blue color right now (same color as the shorts I bought from Stig P) My Tumblr is proof of it.

Blog I love

Dear Nike by swedish stylist Nike Felldin. I adore Nikes style and her inspiration pictures. Unfortunately she doesn't really update her blog anymore, but she has a great archive and is very active on twitter and instagram (as DearNike).

Sporty for Spring part two

Photobucket
Dress from Cos, Nike free run, Blue shorts from Stig P (Wow, sorry for such a bad picture quality!)
So for this spring I am longing to add a bit of sporty elements to my wardrobe - see blog post here. And so far so good. This dress by Cos has the perfect balance of relaxed summer elegance with the round neck and the buttons, and sporty elements with the big pockets and the strings. I hope I will get a lot of use out of it when the weather gets a bit better.
My doctor once said to me that I needed some very comfortable shoes for when I am traveling and walk around so much for castings, because when I wear boots or other shoes with a solid heel it is too hard for my hips and my skeleton (yes she said that). Well it took me almost three years but now I finally got them. They are not exactly pretty, but I am surprised by how many cool, good looking and well dressed people are wearing them here in Copenhagen. I don't know if I will ever get to wear them besides for running and power walking, but I hope that I can step out of my comfort zone and actually get to wear them with outfits (you know, for the sake of my skeleton).
The last thing I bought is a pair of shorts. My boyfriend looked at me a little funny when I brought them home, there where still snow on the ground and minus five degrees, but as I explained to him, you have to buy this stuff now or it will all be sold out once the temperature hits 20. I really like these. The blue color is amazing, just what I was looking for. I will have to show you a better picture at some point.

Have you done any spring shopping yet?

I have long been a fan of the swedish brand Filippa K. Simple minimalistic clothes in good quality for a fair price. And they have great customer service! They send their beautiful little catalogs by mail and they are always a treat to receive. This season is not at all disappointing! I love the blue color and the all white looks I think it looks gorgeous. See the whole collection here.

Hello again

Photobucket
Wintage sweater, H&M skirt, Kunert stockings, Bili Bi shoes and MyPaperbagOriginal leather tote.
I have had some problem with photoshop so that's why it has been so quiet here lately. But now it is up and running so no more excuses!
This outfit I have been wearing a lot lately. With different shoes mostly because there is still snow on the ground here in Denmark. I love this sweater and I was so happy and surprised when my grandmother gave it to me saying that she saw it in and vintage shop and wanted me to have it! It is very oversized but I just love it's chunkiness.

Happy friday to all of you!

Sporty for spring

Photobucket
I want to get sporty this spring! Wishing for a baseball jacket like this one from Maison Scotch. A sporty sweatshirt. This one from Nike has a nice color, but a grey wouldn't be bad either. The Céline Cabas bag, in leather preferably, but this one just matched the collage so perfectly. I need nice silk socks to use with sandals this summer, I really like that look. A cap, I know that this is a big trend item but it just looks so good, and it doesn't have to be a super expensive one. White jeans. Well not white white but a bit of creme colored. This is a essential that I actually threw out last year but haven't bee able to find a nice new replacement. These from Pierre Balmain are super perfect except for the price. See the items on Polyvore here.

Wardrobe problems and solutions

Photobucket
I got a pair of jeans like this, and a black sweater. I could use a nice "wow" bag. See outfit here.
Photobucket
I have a white sweater like this one and sneakers. I could use a cool, none black or grey pencil skirt. See outfit here.
I must admit I'm having a terrible hard time shopping at the moment. Actually I have felt like this ever since I started reading all these "french wardrobe" blogs. It made me realize how much junk I had in my wardrobe and after getting rid of all of that I'm kind of scared to add new items. This is good news to my wallet, but the problem is I am still not satisfied completely with my wardrobe. I still have mornings where I just don't know what to wear and I feel bored with my clothes. But at the same time I just can't seem to go out and buy new additions, because I have incorporated in my brain that I don't need anything. I now have the "perfect french wardrobe" but I find it boring! It is quit a dilemma. It helps making Polyvore outfits, where I always take one item from my existing wardrobe as a starting point and then create an outfit in hope that I will get inspired and realize what it is that I'm missing. I still thought I needed more basics but what I have discovered is that I need the "wow" pieces. Sadly these are the things I have never been good at shopping for. Even when I had a ton of junk i my wardrobe it was always basic, neutral junk. When I look at an item I like I always seek the black, white or grey option, and I just don't seem to be able to convince myself that the nice dark green, burgundy or yellow one is the way to go. I guess this is a common problem. However location the problem is the first step to success. I now know what I need is not another black sweater but more likely:

- A cool statement bag in a nice color! (option here - very pricy so would have to start saving!)
- Sporty accessories like caps (option here) and college sweaters, maybe even a baseball jacket (option here).
- A pencil skirt that is not black or grey, but colored or patterned (can't find any great options:( Any suggestions?)

I think (and hope) that some of these additions might help me find my wardrobe more attractive because right now it is just a nightmare getting dressed. My only concern is if these pieces would be as everlasting as the other stuff I have? I guess if you really love the things you buy they will be.

Do you ever have wardrobe crisis like this, or does your closet alway provide you with new inspiration? And what do you do in order to update your closet so that it doesn't feel boring?

Last week it was fashion week in Copenhagen. I usually do a couple of shows but this time I was working in Paris so instead I just had to catch up from home. These are the collections I liked. I have long been a fan of Baum und Pferdgarten (I have even been so lucky to do their look book once). I just love the colors and the cute little socks and especially like the jackets and the patterns. Another great collection was Bruuns Bazar. I love every piece I owen from this brand, they are great at balancing quality and price. I just know that the a/w12 collection will not disappoint! I must admit I usually don't pay much attention to Sand, it always seems very business like to me, but some of their a/w12 outfits looked rather interesting. Especially the angora knits and the pop colors. Rützou is another great brand that always stay very true to their originally style, so this is really a continuation of previously collection. So with other words nothing new, but I really like their original style and if it ain't broke why fix it? Vibskov is sometimes a bit tricky because you have to look past the weird styling, but this time I actually think it looks very wearable. The patterne are gorgeous and I could definitely wear that coat in the second picture. And the little caps are so cool! Wackerhaus also had a couple of great looks this season and I especially like this tweed set.
So these were the highlights, but I have to say it all looked rather great. Danish designers really are talented, and I am impressed by how wearable it all is this season. Boring some might say, but it suits me just fine. I always think that the designs that is the most boring is the designs that you can't wear in real life unless you are Anna Dello Russo.

I updated my "about me" post, so if you are new to this blog or you would just like to know a little more about me take a look here.

Just tired

Photobucket
Nike Felldin's office, The Sartorialist and Jjjound.
I'm back in Copenhagen again. Paris was amazing but busy, hence the lack of posting, and now that I'm home I have been hit by a cold and a sore throat. So I'm just taking it super easy this weekend. With this weather you don't really want to do much anyway so staying in bed suits me fine. I won't be home for long though, I'm going back on the 20th and staying for two weeks for fashion week and another round of Zac Posen showroom. I think it is going to be super exciting since I have never done Paris fashion week before so I'm both happy and a little nervous about how it turns out. But for now I am just going to focus on getting well and enjoying my two weeks at home - and trying to be a better blogger:) Have a great sunday!

What the Parisienne girl wear vs. what I wear when it is minus 10 degrees

Photobucket
See who made these amazing pieces here:)
I am so amazed by just how much the parisian girls care about how they look all the time. It is essential to them, and you see just how much when the temperatures hit minus 10 degrees. So this is what a parisian girl was wearing on the metro today: brogues, NO SOCKS(!), a knit sweater, a wool jacket and a scarf. No glows, no hat, no complaints and a big smile. Because she had achieved her goal to beat the cold looking impeccably stylish.
When I get dressed on a cold morning the goal is to get as much layers on and still be able to close my coat. I look like a knit fur ball! The thought of looking good or stylish doesn't even occur to me, until I stand next to the Parisienne on the metro. I feel awkward, and a little silly. Is it really that cold? I might just take my hat off. And one of the scarfs. And those wool socks might not have to be up to my thighs. Down my bag they all go.
You get no sympathy at all from anyone living in Paris. When I go to castings in this weather and I might have a running nose or a red nose, they all look at me and say "Oh! You sick?" And I look at them thinking "No! It is minus 10 degrees why is it that you don't have a red or running nose?" You would think that being from the north I would be better prepared for this kind of weather, and the Parisians would be the ones panicking, throwing everything wool or knit-ish on. Is it just impossible for a Parisian to think about comfort first? Or are they thinking that comfort is being stylish and feeling good about their look even if it means being cold? Are they warmer blooded? What is their secret?
